Lake Erie Walleye Perch Report for 9-19-09

Today several boats struggled to catch walleye, casting on the rocks. The grass is relentless, so trying to troll is very tough. We ended up perching today West of West Reef. The fish were steady but small. We moved up to NW Reef and caught some bigger ones.

Today we caught larger fish. We ran Jet 40's 80-85 back. J-7's in Firetiger caught almost all of the fish.

What a great day. We trolled all day and caught 31 very nice fish. Our group was made up of the men's side of a wedding party. What a great gift from the Groom.

Today was strictly a casting charter. Weapons with with gold diamond cut blades, and bottom bouncers caught most of the fish.

Today was the second toughest day this year. We only caught 3 keeper Walleye with a few throw backs, and several junk fish. We had two fathers with their 3 young sons on the boat. They had a great time despite the tough fishing. Each boy carried his own Walleye off of the boat, with the biggest smiles you could imagine.

The day started out a little windy, then the wind laid down and it rained pretty hard. We still did very well trolling dipseys between Rattlesnake and Green.

Today we did well. We had a lot of throw backs and we dropped several fish. All in all it was a good day. Our Dipseys did best with Confusion Scorpian spoons.
